Who We Are
Remind AI is a personal productivity app for iOS, operated by BLUE SIRIUS PARTICIPAÇÕES LTDA, a company registered in Brazil ("we", "us", "our"). We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy.
This policy explains what information the app handles, why, who else receives it, how long it is kept, and the rights you have over it. By using the app, you acknowledge that you have read this policy.
2. Summary
- Your reminders, people and notes are stored in your own iCloud account. We cannot see them.
- When you use the Chat tab, what you type or say is sent to Anthropic (the company behind Claude) to be turned into a reminder. So are the first names of the people in your People list, so the AI can recognise who you mean.
- We keep a pseudonymous device identifier to protect the AI service from abuse. It is not linked to your name, email or Apple ID.
- Apple handles payments. RevenueCat helps us manage subscriptions.
- We do not sell your data, show ads, or build advertising profiles.
3. Information Stored in Your iCloud
Your reminders, the people you add, and your private notes are stored in your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit private database.
- This data sits on Apple's infrastructure, not on any server we operate.
- We have no access to it and cannot read, restore or back it up.
- It syncs across your Apple devices signed into the same iCloud account.
- It is protected by Apple's iCloud security and counts against your own iCloud storage.
Apple's push notification service may send silent background signals to your device to keep this data in sync. These signals carry no reminder content.
4. Information Sent When You Use the Chat
When you submit a message in the Chat tab, the app sends the following to our server proxy (hosted on Cloudflare), which forwards it to Anthropic's Claude API to be parsed into a reminder:
- The text you typed, or the transcript of what you said (see section 6).
- The first names of the people in your People list (up to 200). The AI uses these to work out who a reminder is about, for example to link "call Ana" to the right person. Last names, relationship labels and notes are not sent.
- The full name of any person you @-mention in that message.
- Your device's current local date, time and time zone, so that phrases like "tomorrow at 7pm" resolve correctly.
- A technical flag set when the text looks like an attempt to manipulate the AI, used to apply stricter processing.
The parsed reminder is returned to your device and saved in your iCloud.
What we do with it: Our proxy does not store the content of your messages or the names sent with them, and does not write them to our logs. They pass through our proxy only in transit.
What Anthropic does with it: Anthropic processes this data to return the parsed reminder, under its commercial terms and privacy policy: https://www.anthropic.com/legal/privacy. We encourage you to review it.
Please avoid entering highly sensitive information in the Chat, such as passwords, bank or card numbers, or medical details.
5. Device Authentication and Abuse Prevention
To stop unauthorised use of our AI service, the app uses Apple's App Attest. On first use, your device creates a cryptographic key in its secure hardware (the Secure Enclave); the private part of this key never leaves your device. Our server then stores:
- a device key identifier and the matching public key;
- Apple's attestation receipt, which confirms that the request comes from a genuine copy of our app on a genuine Apple device;
- a request counter, used to reject replayed requests; and
- a daily usage counter, used to enforce per-device usage limits.
These records form a pseudonymous device identifier. They are not linked to your name, email address or Apple ID, and we do not try to identify you from them.
Your device also stores a short-lived access token (valid for 24 hours) in its secure Keychain. It never leaves the device except to authenticate requests to our proxy.
Network data: Like any internet service, our hosting provider Cloudflare processes your device's IP address and technical request information (such as time and response status) in order to deliver and secure the service. Our own error logs record technical error information only, never the content of your messages.
6. Voice Input
Voice input is transcribed entirely on your device using Apple's on-device speech recognition. Your audio is never recorded, stored or sent to us or to any third party, including Apple. The resulting text appears in the input field for you to review, and is handled as described in section 4 only once you submit it.
7. Importing from iPhone Contacts
If you choose to import people from your iPhone Contacts, the app reads the names in your address book to show you the list. Only the first and last names of the contacts you select are saved, and they are saved in your iCloud (section 3). Phone numbers, email addresses, photos, addresses and other contact details are never read or stored.
Imported names then become part of your People list, so their first names are included in Chat requests as described in section 4.
8. Subscriptions and Payments
Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your payment card details, your name or your Apple ID from Apple.
We use RevenueCat to validate purchases and manage subscription status. RevenueCat receives your purchase and subscription history, an anonymous identifier it assigns to your installation of the app, and basic technical information such as app version, device type, operating system and country. It uses this to tell the app which plan you are on. RevenueCat's privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.
9. Notifications
Reminder notifications are scheduled locally on your device by iOS. We do not run a server that sends you reminder notifications, and the content of your reminders is never sent to one.
10. Why We Process Your Data (Legal Bases)
Under Brazil's General Data Protection Law (LGPD), and equivalent laws where they apply, we rely on:
- Performance of our contract with you, to parse your Chat messages into reminders and to provide the subscription you purchased; and
- Our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and preventing abuse, for device authentication, rate limiting and network security.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling or any purpose unrelated to running the app.
11. Service Providers
We share data only with the providers needed to operate the app:
| Provider | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Apple (iCloud, App Store, App Attest, push) | Storage, billing, device verification, sync | Your iCloud data; purchase records; attestation |
| Anthropic | Parsing Chat messages | Chat input, People first names, @-mentioned name, local time and time zone |
| Cloudflare | Hosting our proxy; security | IP address, request metadata, device identifier records |
| RevenueCat | Subscription management | Purchase history, anonymous ID, technical info |
We do not sell or rent your personal data.
12. International Transfers
Anthropic, Cloudflare and RevenueCat are based in the United States, and your data may be processed there or in other countries where these providers operate. Where data leaves Brazil or the European Economic Area, we rely on the safeguards these providers offer, such as standard contractual clauses, as permitted by applicable law.
13. How Long We Keep Data
- Chat content: not stored by us. Anthropic retains it only as described in its own policy.
- Daily usage counters: deleted automatically after about 26 hours.
- Device identifier records (key identifier, public key, attestation receipt, request counter): kept until you ask us to delete them. Reinstalling the app generates a new identifier, and the old records are no longer used.
- Your iCloud data: kept in your iCloud account until you delete it (section 14).
- Subscription records: held by Apple and RevenueCat under their own policies.
14. Deleting Your Data
Deleting the app does not delete your data from iCloud. Your reminders, people and notes stay in your iCloud account so they can return if you reinstall. To remove them:
- Delete individual reminders, people and notes inside the app, or
- On your iPhone, go to Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage, and if Remind AI is listed, select it and delete its data.
To ask us to delete the device identifier records described in section 5, email us at the address in section 17.
15. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, including under the LGPD and the GDPR, you may have the right to:
- confirm whether we process your personal data, and access it;
- correct inaccurate data;
- have your data anonymised, blocked or deleted;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- know which third parties we share it with;
- object to processing based on our legitimate interest; and
- lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. In Brazil, this is the Autoridade Nacional de Proteção de Dados (ANPD).
Because most of your data lives in your own iCloud account, you can access, change and delete it directly in the app. For anything else, contact us (section 17). We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
16. Children's Privacy
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the app, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.
